A crown is a tooth-shaped cover placed over a tooth that is badly damaged or decayed. Crowns may be placed for several reasons, but generally the tooth has been extensively damaged by decay, or has already broken and filling material can't replace the missing tooth structure and make the tooth strong enough to support it during chewing. A crown may hold together parts of a tooth that is in the process of cracking in an effort to prevent further damnage. Crowns may also are used for cosmetic purposes to cover misshapen or badly discolored teeth.

Traditionally, Crowns are fabricated in a Laboratory, but CEREC Crowns can be made in our office. Dr. Abrew will help you to determine which type of crown is best for you.
